It was born out of the need for the Alberta River Surfing Association (ARSA) to have world class waves. Their selfish quest quickly turned into a project to improve the world. Because the Kananaskis River dam operated and turns off at night we have the ideal location to test new wave designs and release information with the world. From there their mission is to make building these waves in other river surfing communities around the world.

Austin Ross was born and raised on a hobby farm in the Pemberton Valley on the BC coast mountain range. It wad there that on the edge of the Lillooet River and beneath the iconic Mt.Curie that his passion for the outdoors was initially sparked. His parents instilled in him a deep love for nature and the outdoors from a very young age. He learned to home his sense of exploration through activities the skiing, mountain biking, hiking and camping.
